Expert Tooth Extractions: Careful Solutions for Dental Health and Comfort

If a tooth has been broken or damaged by decay, our experienced dentists will try to fix it with a filling, crown, or other appropriate treatments.

However, in some cases, tooth removal may be your only option if there is too much damage and the tooth cannot be repaired.

Other Reasons for Dental Extractions Include:

BOOK CONSULTATION
  • Periodontal disease.
  • Severe decay.
  • Badly broken tooth, beyond repair.
  • People getting braces may need teeth extracted to allow the teeth to move into place.
  • Impacted Wisdom teeth.

After Care Instructions:

  • Look after the clot by resting.
  • Take painkillers as prescribed to them by their dentist.
  • Avoid rinsing the mouth for 24 hours. After the first 24 hours, rinse your mouth GENTLY every 2-3 hours (especially after meals) using warm salt water (1-2 teaspoons of salt to a glass of warm water). Continue rinses for seven days.
  • Do not disturb the socket with your tongue or foreign objects.
  • Avoid hot liquids and hard foods for the rest of the day. A soft diet is advised for the first 24 hours.
  • Avoid chewing on the affected side for 1-2 days. Care should be taken to avoid dislodging the clot.
  • Avoid smoking and consuming alcohol for the first three days after extraction, as it can delay healing and cause a very uncomfortable condition called ‘Dry Socket’. If this occurs, you need to contact the dentist.
  • Some swelling is normal and should not cause alarm. An ice bag wrapped in a towel should be applied to the area, 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off for 4 hours.

If a damaged tooth cannot be repaired, trust our experienced dentists for gentle and precise tooth extractions.
